Fishing Tour 1
10 days / 9 nights May 15 – May 25, June – July Group size: 1–10 people
The Khoton and Khurgan Lakes are the second largest and clearest of all lakes in Mongolia, with an average depth of 26m and maximum depth of approximately 58m.
The landscape around the lakes is stunning – with forests and snow-capped mountains. Khoton and Khurgan Lakes are home to the Grayling (Thymallus arcticus) and the Lenok (Brachymystax lenok).
Day 1: Arrive in Ulaanbaatar
- Met at the UB airport by one of our representatives
- Checking in at hotel
- Sightseeing tour of the city and welcome dinner
Day 2: Arrive in Ulgii
- Catch an early flight to Ulgii, the capital of Bayan-Ulgii province
- Visit local bazaar and museum, Muslim mosque
- Overnight in a “Bear Valley” ger camp
Days 3–5: Khoton-Khurgan Lakes
- Drive to Khoton-Khurgan lake
- Camp near the Snake Valley river
- Fishing
- Visit Kazakh nomads family
- Trek or ride a horse around the lake
Day 6: Dayan Lake
- Drive to Dayan lake
- See the ancient Stone men, Balbal stones, or the 6th–7th century Turkish burial markers
- Rest day
Days 7–8: Dayan Lake Fishing
- Dayan lake fishing
- Dayan lake is rich with Grayling, Altai Osman, and other fish
- Visit Kazakh family and learn their nomadic life
- Visit Eagle hunters family, learn how to train eagle and have photos with Golden Eagle
Day 9: Drive Back to Ulgii
- Drive back to Ulgii
- Shopping for local art and handicrafts
- Stay overnight in a “Bear Valley” ger camp and enjoy hot shower
Day 10: Flight to UB
- Return flight to Ulaanbaatar followed by a farewell dinner
